01Overview
Golden Hour Cam is built to work on your device. There is no account or sign-in, and we (the developer) do not run servers that receive your photos, location or other personal information.
This policy explains what the App accesses, what the third-party services it uses receive, and the choices you have.
02Camera
The App uses the camera to show the live preview and take photos. Preview frames are processed in memory on your device and are never recorded or sent anywhere. Only the photos you take are kept.
03Photos
The App asks only for permission to add photos to your library. It cannot see the photos already in your library.
Each photo you take is also kept in the App’s private storage on your device, so it is not lost if saving to your library fails and so you can view your latest photo. This storage is not included in iCloud backups. Photos already saved to your library are removed from it after 7 days (only the 20 most recent are kept); photos still waiting for permission stay until they are saved. Deleting the App removes this storage.
04Location
With your permission, the App uses your location only while it is open, to:
- print the place name and coordinates on photos when the stamp is on, and
- write the location into each photo’s metadata (geotag) whenever location access is allowed.
To show a place name, the App sends your coordinates to Apple’s geocoding service, which handles them under the Apple Privacy Policy. Your location is not sent to us or to advertising providers, and the App does not store it anywhere except inside your photos.
You can allow approximate location only, or turn location off in iOS Settings at any time. The camera keeps working, and the stamp shows the time only.
05Advertising
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, only on the Settings screen. The ad service is not started for PRO users.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the App shows Google’s consent form before any ad is requested. You can change your choice later with Privacy Choices in Settings.
- After your first saved photo, iOS may ask whether the App can track you. If you allow it, Google may use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to show personalized ads. If you do not, the identifier is not shared and ads are less personalized. You can change this in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
When ads are shown, Google may collect information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads, as described in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
06Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. The App uses RevenueCat to check whether PRO is active. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID created on your device, your purchase history for this App, and basic device and app information (such as device model, iOS version, App version and App Store country). It does not receive your name or email address.
RevenueCat handles this information under the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
07Feedback
If you send us feedback by email, we receive your email address, your message and the device information filled in for you (App version, build, iOS version, device model, language and plan), which you can see and edit before sending. We use it only to reply and to fix problems, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
08Settings Stored on Your Device
The App stores your preferences (such as the theme and whether the stamp is on) and simple counters used to space out ads (such as how many photos you have saved) on your device only. They are never sent to us.
09What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal information. The App contains no analytics or crash-reporting service of its own, does not read your existing photos, and does not use your location in the background.
10Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11Your Choices and Rights
You can allow or withdraw camera, photos, location and tracking permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and the UK, or under US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to how it is used.
We hold no personal information about you other than feedback emails you send. To exercise your rights over those, contact us. For information held by Google, RevenueCat or Apple, you can also use the tools described in their privacy policies.
12Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy whenever the App’s data practices change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
